Thunder Force II is a side-scrolling shoot ’em up game released by Technosoft for the Sega Genesis in 1989. It’s a hybrid of top-down and horizontal scrolling levels, where players pilot a futuristic spacecraft called the FIRE LEO-02 Exceliza. The game alternates between free-roaming overhead stages, where players have to destroy enemy bases, and more linear side-scrolling levels with intense bullet-dodging action.
