Description
Gyruss is a classic shoot ’em up arcade game designed by Yoshiki Okamoto and released by Konami in 1983. It was later ported to various platforms, including the Atari 2600. The game’s gameplay involves navigating a spacecraft through a scrolling starfield, reminiscent of a 3D view from the cockpit, and engaging in battles against enemy ships while flying through different planetary systems on a journey to reach Earth. Gyruss is best known for its innovative use of 3D perspective and its energetic soundtrack based on Bach’s Toccata and Fugue in D minor.
