Fist of the North Star is an action-adventure game for the Nintendo NES. Released in 1987, it is based on the popular eponymous manga and anime series. You play as Kenshiro, the martial artist hero of the post-apocalyptic world, who uses his deadly fighting style, Hokuto Shinken, to defeat various opponents. Through a series of side-scrolling levels, Kenshiro fights his way through his enemies, using his signature move of hitting their vital points to make them explode. The game is notorious for its high difficulty level and its adherence to the manga’s brutal visual style.
