DJ Boy is a beat ’em up arcade game developed by Kaneko and released in 1989. It was later ported to the Sega Genesis/Mega Drive. The game features a roller-skating DJ named Boy who battles against various street gangs in an urban setting to rescue his girlfriend. The Genesis port included changes to the stages and music. This side-scrolling game is known for its unique blend of hip-hop culture and traditional beat ’em up gameplay, sprinkled with challenging boss fights and distinctive levels.
