Description

Defender II, also known as Stargate, is a classic arcade game originally released in 1981. Developed by Williams Electronics, Defender II is a side-scrolling shooter game and the sequel to the original Defender. It was ported to the Atari 2600, among other consoles. The game challenges players to defend against waves of alien invaders using a spaceship equipped with advanced weaponry. The Atari 2600 version, while simplified due to hardware limitations, sought to capture the essence of the arcade experience with its fast-paced gameplay and strategic elements, such as rescuing humanoids and navigating through space.
