Description

River Raid II is a sequel to the popular shoot ’em up video game River Raid, designed by David Lubar and released in 1988 for the Atari 2600 console. This airplane combat game builds on its predecessor’s vertical scrolling action, introducing new gameplay features such as refueling in mid-air, various combat missions, and the ability to take off and land on aircraft carriers. As players navigate their fighter jet over rivers and destroy enemy bridges, ships, and helicopters, they experience one of the more advanced titles for the Atari 2600 with regards to graphics and gameplay depth.
