Strider Returns, also known as ‘Journey from Darkness: Strider Returns,’ is an action platformer released for Sega’s Game Gear in 1992. It’s the follow-up to the original Strider game, featuring similar fast-paced side-scrolling gameplay with a focus on combat and acrobatics. The player takes on the role of a futuristic ninja named Strider Hiryu, tasked with saving a kidnapped princess and defeating the villain, Grandmaster Meio. Despite sharing its name with the arcade hit, Strider Returns was not developed by Capcom and is often regarded as inferior to its predecessor due to its level design and controls.
