Toxic Crusaders is an action-adventure genre video game for the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES). Developed by Bandai in 1992, it’s based on the animated TV show of the same name. Players control Toxie, a superhuman hero who must save the world from alien pollution. The game is a side-scrolling beat ’em up, with gameplay mainly involving the player advancing through different levels and combating enemies. Toxie uses mop in hand and can also acquire different power-ups to aid in his mission. Although quirky, it’s remembered for its challenging gameplay and strong environmental themes.
