Defender 2000 is an updated version of the classic 1981 Williams Electronics arcade game Defender. Developed by Llamasoft and released for the Atari Jaguar in 1996, the game retains the side-scrolling shooter gameplay of the original but enhances it with new levels, power-ups, and updated 2D/3D graphics. It features multiple game modes including a classic mode, a plus mode with enhanced graphics, and the advanced Defender 2000 mode. The aim is still to defeat waves of invading aliens while rescuing humanoids on the landscape below.
